This is likely a heavenly haven for anyone with a sweet tooth! You'll find all sorts of snacks, ranging from candy to chips, that will likely remind you of your childhood memories. They have a variety of brands and flavors, ranging from American to Asian. For example, they even had the German Haribo gummy bears and worms that are bigger and better (based on some fans' taste buds). There are two cashiers to help you. The chocolate can be expensive. For example, ~$28 per pound for dark chocolate almond bark. Nonetheless, you'll likely leave the store smiling =D

They had so much candy and a large variety! This was so much fun running around to make my selections. Well not actually running because the place was packed. I nabbed a Charleston chew, violet pastilles, ginger candy, Swedish fish, sour gummies, and 2 other types of sour candy for the younger folks in the family. My mom would take me here when I was a kid so what a treat of an experience this was. We were parked illegally right in front and ran out in then nick of time! The ticket person was there so I screamed to avoid him punching that ticket screen. Ticket averted, fortunately. When you go, find a legal parking spot.

Fun spot to pop into! There's a huge selection of candy from around the world, as well as older brands that just fills the wall. The checkout line moves very quickly. It's a small space so it can't get cramped when busy, but definitely worth a visit. I've bought candy as souvenirs from here and think it's more fun and unconventional.

The greatest candy place on earth since 1937. It was all of the old school candy you used to eat growing up as well as chips and candy from other countries, nuts, vegan options. There candy wall to wall and from floor to ceiling. It felt very nostalgic. The space was a bit crammed, but movable. I was disappointed they didn't have any big chewy sweet tarts or squirrel nuts, but they did have Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddies. The place was really self-serve, but if you had any questions, there were employees who could assist. If you are ever in the Lower East Side, stop by Economy Candy for old times sake. Til we eat again

Well what can I say about Economy Candy Shop. Nothing Bad that is for sure! I can't believe today was my first time visiting this place. When you walk in the scent of fudge, chocolate candy and just all the goodness smells like heaven! I could be in this store all day and look at all the different types of candy. They have products that are imported from different countries and all. This store brought me back in time. It has alot of older candy that is hard to find at your regular candy stores/ delis/ supermarkets. There is also more than just candy here. They have apparel, I saw some trading cards and other non candy related items. In the back they have a whole wall where its color is coordinated. I believe they were all jelly beans. And up front by the door they have 2 sections where you can fill bags with however much or little candy you want. The guy who rang me up was very nice. Not sure if he is the owner or not but had a little conversation with him saying how i was born and raised here and never stepped foot in this store until now. He was amazed. I said I could spend all day here and he laughed. This is a must go! if you are visiting NYC or are just in the area.

Just about every candy you can think of is in this store. Nostalgic faves, international rarities, and even current popular flavors. Prices are pretty standard and affordable compared to some of the "exotic candy shops" that have piled up around the city. Can get pretty crowded but worth taking your time to explore their full inventory. Can't wait to go back

confection wonderland of the Lower East Side filled from floor to ceiling with so much candy. if you are looking for a particular candy from the present or your childhood...you will likely find it here or a substitute for said sweet. colorful, clean, brightly lit store with so much to see and eat. there are your typical candies packaged and priced; there is chocolate and other confections by the pound; and individual loose candy by the pound. love the fact that Economy Candy carries Tony's Chocolonely which are quality ethically-made chocolate bars! there are also so many flavors of the loose candies to choose from to make your ultimate treat bag...make your Halloween trick-or-treat bag anytime of the year and you have to trick or treat! there's no Willy Wonka here but there's all the candy that you can imagine in downtown NYC.

Candy in all its Glory! I was literally walking like a kid in a candy store! Candy from my youth that I haven't seen in decades line the shelves; cheap when you buy a single bar but even cheaper when YOU BUY THE BOX!! They sell Candy bars by the box!! Such a helpful staff! I went in on a rainy Saturday - and the staff were so helpful and friendly! In retrospect, I should have gotten a Tshirt - Gildan heavy cotton made a quality souvenir. Also should have picked up more recyclable totes - good quality for $1! When you look around, it is amazing to see all the different kinds of candy you can get: by the bar and by the bag. If you are downtown, stop by - it is worth your time!
